Start a game

  1. Sign in with start.ng.
  2. Play a friend with a link, find a match, or play the bot.

The rules

  1. The board is 8 x 8, with pieces on the dark squares. Each side has 12 men.
  2. A man moves one square diagonally forward. A king moves one square in any direction.
  3. A capture jumps an adjacent enemy piece into the empty square behind it.
  4. A man captures forwards only. A king captures both ways.
  5. Captures are compulsory, and a piece must keep jumping while it can.
  6. A man that reaches the far rank becomes a king, and that ends the turn.
  7. You win when the other side has no pieces or no move.
  8. 40 moves each with no capture and no man moved is a draw.
